Maříž Ceramics
Don’t miss the opportunity to paint ceramics in the picturesque village of Maříž. In Maříž, you’ll find many inspiring places for ceramic painting – outdoors in the garden under umbrellas or indoors in a pleasantly cool, renovated barn. There is also a playground with wooden climbing frames and a sandbox for children, a beautiful open-access garden with a trampoline, and a restaurant with an outdoor terrace and a cozy interior, offering a curated farmer’s menu and homemade baked goods from the local oven.
You’ll receive white-glazed ceramics – most commonly a mug, animal figure, plate, teapot, bowl, etc. (around 80 different shapes to choose from on-site). Brushes, carving tools, paints, and aprons are provided, along with a guide who will explain how to work with ceramics, painting techniques, and color options. Painting ceramics isn’t complicated – it’s more about creativity and playing with colors. You can also sketch your design in pencil first, carve it into the ceramic (called “into the shard”) and then fill in the shapes with color.
From Maříž, you can take a walk to the Austrian border, to the revitalized Maříž Park, the nearby forests, or local ponds. The atmosphere is relaxed and invites peaceful enjoyment.
