How to get back
You can get back either by bus or you can extend the trip and create a circuit from the route back to Chlum u Třeboně
Route description
The trail leads from the dam of Hejtman pond along the red trail around the ponds. At Starý Hospodář pond, continue along the yellow trail to Lutová. Next to the panel at Nový Hospodář pond, there is a rest pavilion of the Czech Republic.

Chlumská pond system - Already at the beginning of the 16th century, there were several ponds here, which formed the basis for the system built by Mikuláš Ruthard from Malešov for Volf Jr. Krajíř from Krajka. The axis of the system is the Koštěnický stream (formerly Hostice). There are a number of islands on the ponds, their banks are indented, surrounded by old forest stands. The Chlumská pond system is a very valuable botanical and ornithological locality - the white-tailed eagle also nests here. The system has two protected monuments, the Staré jezero Nature Reserve and the Vizír National Natural Monument
