In the Footsteps of Jan Žižka in the Trhové Sviny Region

Discover the beauty of Trhovosvinensko by electric bike. No hill is too steep — it’s up to you how long a route you choose or whether you follow one of the suggested trails in the area.

This route is mainly intended for history enthusiasts. It will take you, among other places, to the operational technical monument Buškův hamr and to the birthplace of Jan Žižka in Trocnov, where you can visit an exhibition by the South Bohemian Museum dedicated to the Hussite movement and explore the surrounding park. It continues to Borovany, where you can visit the Augustinian monastery. Through the villages of Jílovice and Petříkov, you’ll reach Hrádek near Trhové Sviny, close to which lies a supposed pagan shrine with a stone bearing a runic inscription. In Trhové Sviny, don’t miss the late Gothic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary or the square with its unmissable fountain and arcades linking the townhouses.
