Through the Memory of Vitorazsko Along the Border

Discover the beauty of the Novohradsko region from the saddle of an e-bike. No hill is an obstacle — it's entirely up to you how long a route you choose or whether you follow one of the suggested paths through Novohradsko.

This trail follows part of the educational cycle route "Through the Memory of Vitorazsko" along the Czech-Austrian border. On the route, you can visit the Open-Air Museum of Border Protection and the Iron Curtain, where you’ll learn about the historical development of border security. From there, the path continues through picturesque Austrian villages to the border towns of Gmünd and České Velenice, which used to be a single city. From here, you can either continue on the marked educational route through southern Třeboňsko or return to Nové Hrady — this time on the Czech side of the border.
