A View from Dobrá Voda
Discover the beauty of the Novohradsko region from the saddle of an electric bike. No hill is too steep – it’s up to you how long a route you choose or whether you follow one of the recommended tracks around Novohradsko.
The route runs through what was once a “forbidden zone,” skirting the borderland ponds of Novohradsko and passing through the now-vanished villages of Veveří and Šejby, eventually reaching the Baroque jewel of the Novohradské Mountains – the Church of Our Lady of Consolation in Dobrá Voda. From here, you’ll enjoy a magnificent view across the Třeboň Basin. The trail continues through Horní Stropnice to the Humenice Reservoir and the Gothic stronghold of Cuknštejn.

OPEN-AIR MUSEUM OF BORDER PROTECTION AND THE IRON CURTAIN
This museum is part of the Novohradské Museum and is located close to the Nové Hrady–Pyhrabruck border crossing. The exhibition provides an overview of border protection from ancient times to the Czech Republic’s entry into the Schengen area. A large part of the display focuses on the Cold War era.
NOVOHRADSKO BORDERLAND PONDS
(Kamenný, Přesličkový, Hejškův, Veverský): This educational trail introduces visitors to the beauty of forgotten ponds. Přesličkový and Hejškův ponds are protected natural monuments. Kamenný pond lies directly on the national border, which runs across a large granite boulder on its dam.
