Hojnovodský prales Educational Trail
The Hojná Voda primeval forest is an important natural monument not only within the Novohradské Mountains but also in Central Europe as a whole. Together with Žofín, it is one of the two oldest primeval forests in the Czech Republic.
In 1838, it was declared protected by Count Georg Buquoy. The educational trail through the Hojná Voda forest follows a circular route with 11 panels that inform visitors not only about the forest itself but also about forest cartography, silvicultural activities, and one particularly interesting historical event.
