Interesting places on the route
Paštiky Church – The Church of St. John the Baptist is located two kilometers northeast of the town of Blatná. It was built between 1747 and 1753 on the site of an earlier chapel, based on the designs of the Baroque master Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer. The interior decoration, in the same style as the exterior, is the work of sculptor Ferdinand Ublaker and painter J. V. Spitzer, also from the mid-18th century. The church’s location on a high terrace with a double staircase and its architecture from the end of Dientzenhofer’s life form a harmonious work by three major Baroque artists of their time.
Labuť Pond – Labuť is the largest pond in the Lnáře–Blatná pond area. It is located about 5 km northeast of Blatná, near the village of Myštice.
Buzice Fortress – Buzice Castle is an original medieval fortress, first mentioned in 1348. A tower from the late 14th century has survived, connected to two wings converted in the 16th and 17th centuries into a Baroque granary. Nevertheless, the appearance of a medieval castle has been preserved.
