Cycling along the Otava River
The Otava River offers a wide range of experiences. It’s not just about paddling on its surface, but also a pleasant path along the water, stunning views, and a relaxing atmosphere.
The Otava is divided into several natural sections. We recommend the route from Střelské Hoštice to Štěkeň. Your trip starts in Střelské Hoštice, a village historically linked to timber rafting, and home to a museum documenting this UNESCO-listed craft. Then you pass through Strakonice, where the local castle houses a brand-new museum. The route ends in Štěkeň, where you’ll find a campsite and a beautiful monastery that can be visited.
