From Budějovice via Třeboň and Borovany

From České Budějovice, head north and cross the Lišov Ridge via backroads into the Třeboň Basin. In Třeboň, visit the historic centre and the dam of the Svět pond. Then continue via Stará Hlína and Stříbřec to the Ema Destinnová memorial. The route then leads through hilly terrain around Chlum u Třeboně and Majdalena, following the Třeboň fishpond system. In Kojákovice, admire a beautiful example of South Bohemian rural Baroque architecture, and in Borovany visit a former monastery. Finally, stop at Trocnov, the birthplace of Jan Žižka.
