Trip to See the Animals
Animal lovers will enjoy exploring the wildlife of Czech Canada
About 6 km from Jindřichův Hradec, between the villages of Dolní and Horní Pěna, you’ll find a private zoo covering 10 hectares – the Zoopark na Hrádečku. It is home to eight species of marmosets, lemurs, camels, llamas, kangaroos, donkeys, three species of ostriches, coatis, raccoons, porcupines, monitor lizards, crocodiles and more. Currently, the zoo houses about 80 animal species. In the wild countryside of Czech Canada lies the small settlement of Rožnov. But this is no ordinary village – it's a magical valley where a herd of bison roams – the Bison Ranch. Children and parents alike will enjoy this unforgettable experience of visiting the bison. For kids, there’s a trampoline, climbing frame, inflatable castle and bowling. Parents can appreciate the unique menu and relax in a stylish restaurant offering traditional meals as well as house specialties such as bison steak, burger or sausage. In the small village of Dobrá Voda near Číměř, 14 km south of Jindřichův Hradec toward Nová Bystřice, lies the Alpaca Farm. You can see alpacas, sheep, goats and especially IRISH COB horses there year-round. These beautiful, furry horses are perfect for young riders thanks to their friendly nature and broad backs, making children feel secure. The farm mainly offers pony rides for children aged 2 to 12 years. Several Irish Cob and pony horses are available for children to ride.
