EV 13 – Stage 1: From Modrava to Klápa
EuroVelo 13 is a unique themed route among all the long-distance cycling trails in the South Bohemian Region. It partly runs through Bavaria and Austria, and partly on the Czech side. The theme of this cycling route is the former “Iron Curtain,” which divided Europe for over 40 years. This section is just a small part of the more than 10,000 km long route stretching from Nordkapp to the Aegean Sea.
Along the way, you will encounter many reminders of this dramatic history. Small museums located in natural settings exhibit relics and artifacts from this period, and you’ll also come across remnants from the interwar era. The route described in this leaflet is about 347 km long, moderately difficult, and suitable for trekking bikes.
