EV 13 – Stage 2: From Klápa to Vyšší Brod
EuroVelo 13 is a unique themed route among the long-distance cycling trails in the South Bohemian Region. It runs partly through Bavaria and Austria, and partly on the Czech side. The route's theme is the former "Iron Curtain", which divided Europe for over 40 years. This is just a fragment of the more than 10,000 km long cycling route stretching from Nordkapp to the Aegean Sea.
All along the route, you will encounter many reminders of this turbulent history. Small museums situated in nature exhibit remnants and artifacts from that period, and you may also come across remains from the interwar era. The section described in this leaflet is about 347 km long, moderately demanding, and suitable for trekking bikes.
