EV 13 – Stage 5: From České Velenice to Slavonice

EuroVelo 13 is the most thematically unique of all long-distance routes in the South Bohemian Region. It runs partly through Bavaria and Austria and partly through the Czech Republic. The theme of this cycling route is the so-called "Iron Curtain," which divided Europe for over 40 years. This is just a fraction of the more than 10,000 km long cycling route from Nordkapp to the Aegean Sea. Along the way, you will encounter numerous reminders of this turbulent history – small, nature-based museums display remnants and artifacts from that era, as well as remains from the interwar period. The route in this leaflet is approximately 347 km long, moderately demanding, and suitable for trekking bikes.
