Town of Bavorov

Town of Bavorov

A Czech town located in the northwestern part of the South Bohemian Region, by the Blanice River.

The town of Bavorov was founded by the Bavors of Strakonice, who also built a small castle above the Blanice Valley.

In 1351, the castle and town were sold to the Rosenbergs. The castle in Bavorov likely disappeared as early as the 14th century when the Rosenbergs moved the administration of the estate to the newly built Helfenburk Castle.

In the town, you can visit:

  • The historic town center – an urban conservation area
  • The Bavorov Slope Natural Monument
