Brewery Strakonice 1649
Tour of the brewery with tasting of unfiltered beer drawn directly from the lager tanks.
The beginnings of beer in Strakonice date back to 1308, although brewing probably started earlier. However, the inhabitants did not officially obtain the right to brew beer for a fee to the royal treasury until 8 December 1367 by the charter of Bavor IV.
We recommend sitting in the brewery's "tasting room".
The brewery produces exclusively unpasteurised beer. The output is around 63,000 hl of beer sold per year. The range includes desirable beers, including Švanda light draught beer, Dudák 11% light lager, Dudák Premium, Otavský zlatý, Král Šumavy and semi-dark lager Klostermann. Another popular brand is the unfiltered light lager Sklepák 11%. In the summer months, customers can enjoy a mixed drink with grapefruit flavour - Zlaták. Strakonice beers are highly rated in tasting competitions. Strakonice beer was ranked again in 2016! Once again, it managed to take the medal position at the Žatec Dočesná, a tasting competition with the participation of 25 breweries. Klostermann came in an excellent 3rd place in the category of semi-dark beers.
