Záblatí

The village of Záblatí near Prachatice got its name thanks to its location by the Blanice River. The name comes from the original designation for water-flooded meadows, "blani". The village has always been closely connected to gold and silver panning, the founding of Hus Castle, and the weaving guild.

Chlumany

The village lies in a broad basin just a few kilometers from Vlachovo Březí. It got its name from the surrounding hills, which the ancestors called “chlumy”. This charming village in the Šumava foothills, protected from bad weather by forested massifs, is affectionately known as the “orange country”. A natural garden called KY.BY (flowers and herbs) was founded here. The village is renowned for its rural markets with the rare atmosphere of countryside togetherness. They are held on the first Saturday of each month from May to October. In addition to preserving traditional customs such as Mardi Gras and Konopická, new ones have also emerged. The July TRUCKDAY is a celebration for all drivers, trucks, and lorries.
