Educational Trail “Discover the Land under Javořice”
The nature beneath Javořice is beautifully diverse, and this 12 km educational trail will guide you through its landscape.
Set off on the educational trail and explore the area under Javořice. The 12-kilometre loop with 9 stations starts and ends in Studená. If you’re not up for the full length, a shorter loop is also available. The trail reveals the natural beauty of this region and takes you through protected areas such as Natura 2000, the National Nature Reserve Zhejral, and key biocentres.
1st Stop – Vrší
This site, at an elevation of 668–688 m, showcases preserved linear communities of the Javořice bioregion and offers a beautiful view over the Studenský Stream valley.
2nd Stop – Kameňák
Kameňák Pond is a flow-through pond of the Studenský Stream. In its inflow area, muddy-substrate vegetation has developed.
3rd Stop – Andulka
Located in the charming Studenský Stream valley, this place is linked to historical events described in “Tales and Legends from Javořice” by Ludvík Sadílek.
4th Stop – Horní Pole – Biocentre “K Domašínu”
The surroundings include a hillside spring fen, peat meadows, and wetlands.
5th Stop – Horní Pole – Rusko Fen
The area is home to non-forested biotopes with protected species of plants and animals.
6th Stop – Horní Pole – Rusko “V Kopcích”
A hilltop at 728 m altitude. Its southern slopes are covered with boulders and stones. The site is of great natural and historical significance.
7th Stop – National Nature Reserve Zhejral
This area belongs to the Natura 2000 network and protects wetland, aquatic, and meadow ecosystems.
8th Stop – Karhov – Padělka
Located near the village of Světlá, this entire area lies within the protected zone of the Karhov drinking water reservoir.
9th Stop – Karhov – Natura 2000 Site
This location is part of the European significant locality of Zhejral.
