Beer Trail of the Budweis Region
Explore the Budweis Region and discover its breweries and microbreweries. Do you know how many there are?
České Budějovice (Budweis) and its surroundings boast excellent gastronomy. The area is home to renowned restaurants, cozy cafés, and high-quality breweries and microbreweries. Budweiser Budvar and Samson have a long-standing tradition recognized across the country and worldwide. However, the beer trail will also take you to some lesser-known breweries.
Where to start?
The route begins at Přemysl Otakar II Square. Even in the heart of České Budějovice, you can enjoy local cuisine and beer at the Solnice Restaurant and Brewery, Masné Krámy, or Krajinská 27 Restaurant and Brewery.

Stops along the route:
- Masné Krámy – Enjoy Budweiser Budvar at this historic restaurant located in Krajinská Street, near Přemysl Otakar II Square.
- Krajinská 27 – One of the first microbreweries in České Budějovice, featuring its own restaurant. Also located on Krajinská Street.
- Beeranek – A microbrewery with its own bar, perfect for enjoying evenings with friends until the early hours.
- Solnice Restaurant and Brewery – A new brewery with a stylish restaurant, housed in a meticulously renovated three-story former salt storehouse.
- Kněžínek Microbrewery – The first microbrewery in České Budějovice, situated on a quiet former farmstead at the city’s edge. It includes a guesthouse with wellness facilities and a restaurant.
- Hluboká Brewery – The town of Hluboká nad Vltavou is known for its white fairytale castle and, for the past several years, its own brewery. Try the "Kašpar" or "Melichar" beers in the brewery restaurant or nearby establishments.
- Bukovar Brewery – The unique taste of this beer is partially due to the exceptional quality of water from the underground lake in Dolní Bukovsko. Enjoy it at the brewery restaurant.
- Vltavotýnský Brewery – This historic brewery reopened in 2019. Its beer can be sampled at the Plzeňka Restaurant in Týn nad Vltavou.
- Lipan Brewery Courtyard – Established in 1997 in a former distillery complex, the site features a brewery, restaurant, guesthouse, and fruit distillery.
