On the Trail of Good Waters in Borovansko

Discover the beauty of Borovansko from the saddle of an e-bike. No hill is an obstacle — it's up to you how long your route will be, or whether you follow one of the suggested trails in Borovansko.

This medium-difficulty route leads mainly through the picturesque foothills of the Novohradské Mountains. It partially follows the meanders of the Stropnice River and passes several ponds. Beyond the village of Petříkov, the trail passes by the Dobrá Voda company premises, where water from the Novohradské Mountains is bottled. In the town of Nové Hrady, you can enjoy a taste of history by strolling through the town center, visiting the castle or monastery, and seeing the tomb of the Buquoy family on the local cemetery — a noble family that resided in the town until 1945. In the second part of the circuit, after turning off the main road in Jiřík Valley, you can lock up your bike and take a 4 km walk along the educational trail through the Červené blato National Nature Reserve — an accessible peat bog with ponds and fascinating flora and fauna. On your way back to Borovany, you may stop for refreshments at the family brewery in the village of Jílovice.
