The Malenice Area

Discover Malenice in three different ways.

Malenice Rectory
On the slope below the Church of St. James and the cemetery, also known as the South Bohemian Slavín, lies the former rectory built on the foundations of a medieval stronghold. The newly renovated building offers a unique priest’s secret chamber – a real escape game, a permanent exhibition on notable figures, and other occasional cultural events.

Chapel of St. Wenceslas
Located on the Hůrka hill. It is accessible via an asphalt road in the direction of Zálezly. Worth noticing is the stone viaduct from the early 1890s – a true stonework masterpiece. The chapel is a pseudo-Romanesque rotunda recently restored. A peaceful spot with a beautiful view.
Refreshment tip: the pub in Zálezly. Return to the main road and head toward Zálezly.

Malenice Farm
Accessible via the main road from the village. It lies in a beautiful brook valley, showcasing not only horses but also a lovely piece of maintained nature. Horse rides are possible by arrangement. More info at www.farmamalenice.cz.
Less than a kilometer from the farm is the cozy hamlet of Straňovice with a renovated chapel and historic architecture in rural Baroque style.

Refreshment tip: Drive through Straňovice, turn left at the junction, then follow the asphalt – later dusty road to the village of Úlehle, where you’ll find refreshments at “Klub u Lištičky” (a farm by the chapel).
