There are also stunning hiking trails leading to breathtaking views. For five days, Ollie the Golden Retriever explored South Bohemia with his human "servants," Kačka and Patrik. So, where did we take them, and where should you go too?

Let’s find out! ?

Around Třeboň…

To Dívčí Kámen and Český Krumlov

Romantic Ruins and Adventures with Your Four-Legged Friend

The Dívčí Kámen castle ruins are a stunning romantic spot perched on a high rock above the confluence of the Křemžský Stream and the Vltava River. The trail to the ruins and back is about 4 km, making it a perfect outing for you and your furry companion.

After your visit, head to Český Krumlov for a stroll through the charming town streets. Enhance your experience with a boat ride on the Vltava River, where you can choose between routes with or without weirs. The best place to rent a boat is on Hradební Street, where you can start your adventure right away.

If Český Krumlov doesn’t appeal to you, consider a hike up Kleť Mountain. The most suitable trail starts at Krásetín Parking and follows the route under the cable car. It’s a steep 2 km path that takes about an hour. At the summit, you’ll find a mountain lodge with refreshments, the oldest stone lookout tower in the Czech Republic, and the highest-altitude sundial in the country. For a fun descent, rent a scooter and glide back down! ??‍♂️

Boubín Forest and the Magic of Pošumaví

Explore the Boubín Forest and the Charms of Pošumaví

Start your adventure with a walk to Boubín Lake. From the parking lot below Boubín, it’s a 2-kilometer journey along a beautiful new boardwalk. The trail leads you past the Tree of Souls, a memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives working in the forest, and the Idina pila Information Center, eventually reaching a crossroads. From there, continue along the Amortovka Trail to Boubín Lake, where the route ends. Return the same way, taking in the serene forest atmosphere.

Next, stop in the village of Kubova Huť, home to the highest-altitude railway station in the Czech Republic. Don’t miss the restaurant at Hotel Kristián, where the terrace offers breathtaking views.

For those with energy to spare, consider hiking up to the Boubín Lookout Tower, where you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Nearby, visit Vimperk, a charming town featuring the State Castle, a historic center, and excellent gastronomy. Treat yourself to a dessert and specialty coffee at Café Mráz, and enjoy dinner at the former First Republic swimming facility, now the Vodník Outing Restaurant.

For accommodations, we recommend the unique Teepee Na vrchu, which even Ollie the golden retriever found delightful! ?⛺️
